Snyder High School junior and senior Health Science students recently had the opportunity to attend the TSTC Health Fair and explore a variety of career opportunities in the medical field.

Shoutout to Snyder Intermediate STEAM Club!
Our Transportation Department partnered with the STEAM Club students to create new bus numbers for the front bumpers of all our school buses. They carefully measured and designed the numbers to be the appropriate size and style, then used the equipment in the STEAM lab to cut the vinyl letters. Now, whenever they spot the buses driving around town, they can proudly say, "I made that!"
Let’s celebrate these young designers!

It's National Principals Month! Please join us in celebrating Mr. Fryar, Interim Principal of Snyder Primary School. A West Texas native from Coahoma and a graduate of Angelo State University, Mr. Fryar has 28 years of experience as an educator, coach, campus principal, and superintendent. After retirement, he has continued to serve schools in interim roles, guiding districts through transitions successfully. We're grateful for his wealth of knowledge and steady leadership as we've navigated a time of change.
Join us in appreciating Mr. Fryar for all he does for our students, staff, and community. Thank you, Mr. Fryar! #NationalPrincipalsMonth #ThankAPrincipal #SnyderTigers

October is National Principals Month, and this week, we’re shining a spotlight on our exceptional leaders!
First up is Ms. DeeAnna Blanton, Principal of Snyder Intermediate School. Although she’s new to Snyder, West Texas is home. In addition to leading our 4th and 5th grade campus, you’ll often find Ms. Blanton keeping books for volleyball games and helping out at football games. As a former K-12 principal, she’s no stranger to doing it all and stepping in wherever needed!
Join us in appreciating Ms. Blanton for all that she does for our students, staff, and community. Thank you, Ms. Blanton! 🙌 #NationalPrincipalsMonth #ThankAPrincipal #SnyderTigers

Last week, Mrs. Leija’s 2nd-grade dual language students at Snyder Primary School wrapped up their Hispanic Heritage Month project with creative and informative posters. Each student researched a famous Hispanic figure, learning about their significant contributions and rich cultural traditions. This project allowed students to connect with and honor the heritage of people who trace their roots to Mexico, Spain, and other Spanish-speaking countries, all of which play a vital role in shaping our world today!

Mrs. Hunter’s junior class of future educators recently attended Region 14’s Student Tutor Summit in Abilene. They collaborated with veteran teachers to gain valuable insights, tips, and tricks in preparation for their future careers.
Each student earned 3 credit hours of training as part of this unique opportunity. We’re proud of their dedication to the teaching profession!

First match down for JH tennis! 🎾 This is a great group of student athletes, and we are so excited to watch them grow this year!

Mr. Chavez and Coach Whiddon's 7th Grade Science students at Snyder Junior High recently completed the 100 Board Challenge, a fast-paced competitive review activity to prepare for their Unit 3 Test. As part of the engaging review game, students worked in pairs to answer questions cut up into strands on elements and compounds, physical and chemical changes, aqueous solutions, and the rate of dissolution. Students took one strand, answered the question with their partner on a whiteboard, and were able to put their initials on a spot on the 100 Board projected to the whiteboard if they got the question correct. At the end of the review, a random number generator was used to pick a winning pair, and those students earned a prize of their choice to celebrate.

Today marked another productive day at Snyder ISD. Participants in monthly instructional rounds enjoyed seeing the great things our classroom teachers are accomplishing firsthand! The group at Snyder Primary visited over 20 classrooms, while other teams observed classrooms at both the Intermediate and Junior High Schools. Superintendent Rauch, Trustee Leatherwood, and members of the Cabinet also participated in rounds.
The instructional rounds process, modeled after the medical rounds approach, aims to foster collaboration and professional growth among educators across Snyder ISD. By observing classroom instruction and learning from one another, participants gather insights that help identify trends and guide instructional support. It also allows administrative staff, trustees, and others to see how their work impacts campus staff and students. These rounds are held monthly and contribute to improving student outcomes district-wide.
Snyder ISD teachers demonstrated their dedication to providing quality instruction, and we believe their efforts will greatly benefit students! Keep up the GREAT work!
✨magic in learning, excellence in achieving✨

This afternoon, Snyder Junior High Administration received information about a threat from a student (not associated with Monday’s incident). Students were discussing yesterday’s events, and a student allegedly made a threatening statement. Police responded immediately. The student was searched, and no weapons were found. After questioning, no intent to harm students was discovered. All students are safe, and the issue has been addressed.
We ask all parents and guardians to remind their children that comments which may seem like harmless jokes, sarcastic remarks, or statements made out of frustration can trigger serious responses from school officials and law enforcement. Such comments can lead to disciplinary action and even criminal charges.
In light of recent events nationwide, both the district and law enforcement maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward threats or any joking about violence. It’s important to have a conversation with your children about the seriousness of making remarks related to violence at school and the potential consequences of such behavior.
We are grateful to the student(s) who brought this concern to our attention. If you see or hear anything suspicious or dangerous, please report it immediately to the school administration or contact 911. For non-urgent concerns, you can submit a report using the “See Something, Say Something” form available at www.snyderisd.net/safety. Together, we can continue to foster a safe and supportive learning environment while helping our students grow into responsible future leaders.

UPDATE: 9/10/24, 6:35 AM
Overnight developments brought to the attention of school administration concerning messages shared on TikTok warranted immediate response and additional investigation. This led to a response from the Snyder Police Department and contact with the parent/guardian and student involved.
While we cannot prevent us from discussing the discipline of specific individuals, we want to assure our community that any student found responsible for making threats of violence will face serious consequences in accordance with district policy and applicable law.
Safety remains our top priority, and we will continue to work with law enforcement and take all necessary measures to protect our students and staff. Again, we appreciate the collaboration from our community in reporting any suspicious or concerning behavior. If you witness or hear about suspicious or dangerous behavior, please report it immediately to school administration or call 911. For non-urgent concerns, you can also submit a report using the “See Something, Say Something” form available at www.snyderisd.net/safety. ORIGINAL POST: Snyder Junior High School administration was alerted to information circulating that a student intended to bring a weapon to the junior high campus. In response, campus administrators, the school counselor, and the Snyder Police Department immediately launched a thorough investigation. After careful review, it was determined that this was not a credible threat. Per our request, there will be an increased police presence on the junior high campus tomorrow as an additional precaution.
Ensuring the safety of our school community is a shared responsibility. We rely on students, staff, and families to report any potential threats or concerns to the appropriate authorities. We are grateful for the individuals who took swift action by notifying us, which allowed us to promptly address the situation.
