Superintendent's Advisory Committees
April 2, 2026 Meeting

Student Advisory Committee Attendees

Community Advisory Committee Attendees (missing a few who had to leave early)
April 2 Advisory Committee Meetings Summary
Snyder ISD held its April Advisory Committee meetings on April 2, with a student session in the morning and a community session held during lunch. These meetings continue to provide an opportunity for students, families, staff, and community members to engage in meaningful conversations around district priorities.
The meetings began with a revisit of feedback shared during February’s discussions, which focused on building trust and strengthening communication. Since that time, several steps have been taken in response to that input. These include expanding Superintendent video updates to provide more context behind decisions, increasing opportunities for family engagement through campus events, continuing the district podcast, and exploring additional ways to extend the reach of the district’s weekly newsletter to a broader audience.
Survey feedback from both students and community members was also reviewed and used to help guide the discussion.
The primary focus of the April meetings was student behavior, discipline, and accountability. District leaders shared an overview of the legal and policy framework that guides discipline, including Chapter 37 requirements and local codes of conduct. Participants also reviewed district data and trends, including behavior patterns across campuses, grade-level summaries, and the supports in place for students who demonstrate repeated behavioral challenges.
The conversation also highlighted current systems and ongoing work, including efforts to improve consistency across campuses, strengthen communication, and balance student support with clear expectations for accountability. Updates were shared on the district’s use of the MTSS framework for both behavior and academics, as well as ongoing audits of referral practices to ensure alignment and fairness.
The meetings concluded with a discussion on the importance of consistent expectations for both students and staff, and the broader impact of maintaining clear, structured discipline systems across the district.
The next Advisory Committee meeting is scheduled for May, with participants helping to guide the focus of that discussion through feedback shared at the conclusion of these sessions.
February 6, 2026 Meeting
February 6 Advisory Committee Meetings Summary
Snyder ISD launched its first Superintendent’s Advisory Committee meetings on February 6, with a Student Advisory Committee meeting held in the morning and a Community Advisory Committee meeting held later that day.
The Superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee brought together students from across the district, and the conversation was both thoughtful and honest. Students shared what is going well on their campuses while also offering ideas for improvement. They listened to one another, spoke openly, and embraced the opportunity to help shape their school experience. The level of engagement and ownership shown by students set a strong foundation for future meetings.
The Student Advisory Committee was created to elevate student voice and strengthen communication between students and district leadership. All students in grades 3–12 were eligible to apply, and every student who applied during the application window was accepted.
The Superintendent’s Community Advisory Committee meeting brought together parents, staff, business leaders, and community partners from across Snyder ISD. The focus of the meeting was listening and learning from one another while beginning to build a shared understanding of district priorities.
As part of the conversation, participants were invited to share one word that captured what they hope to accomplish through this work. Responses reflected a strong desire for trust, clarity, collaboration, growth, and connection. These early reflections helped establish a tone of openness and partnership as the committee began its work.
Both meetings marked an important step in creating consistent opportunities for input, dialogue, and shared understanding across Snyder ISD.
Snyder ISD invites students and community members to apply for one of two advisory committees established to strengthen communication and collaboration within the district. Working directly with the Interim Superintendent, the committees provide insight into student, staff, and community experiences while offering ideas to support continued growth and success across the district.

Q&A
What advisory committees is Snyder ISD forming?
Snyder ISD is forming two advisory committees that both advise the Superintendent: the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee for students in grades 3–12 and the Superintendent’s Community Advisory Committee for parents, staff, business leaders, and community partners.
What is the purpose of these committees?
The purpose of these committees is to strengthen listening, communication, and shared understanding between district leadership, students, and the community. They provide a structured space for feedback and perspective on academics, student experience, and district priorities.
These groups are advisory in nature. They help inform leadership thinking but do not make decisions or set policy.
Is this a facilities or construction committee?
No. While facilities may come up in discussion, these advisory committees are not focused on facilities planning, construction projects, or bond development. Their primary focus is academics, student experience, and community perspective.
How is feedback from these committees used?
The Interim Superintendent will use feedback from both committees to better understand experiences, trends, and priorities across the district. Input from the committees helps shape conversations and informs leadership decisions. Final decisions remain with district leadership and the Board of Trustees.
Who can apply for the Student Advisory Committee?
Students in grades 3–12 who are enrolled in Snyder ISD may apply. Applicants should be willing to represent their campus, listen to other students' perspectives, and participate respectfully in conversations with district leadership.
Who can apply for the Community Advisory Committee?
Parents, guardians, staff members, business leaders, and community partners who are interested in supporting academic growth, student preparation, and strong community connections are encouraged to apply.
How were these committees designed?
These committees reflect practices used by many school districts where advisory groups are most effective when they focus on academics first, include diverse voices, and serve as listening and learning spaces rather than decision-making bodies. A direct connection to the Superintendent helps ensure the feedback is meaningful.
