Two Snyder Tigers were recognized at the 33 Lead Foundation Banquet. Please join us in congratulating Easton Stewart and Jonathan Barrow!

EASTON STEWART - 33 Lead Scholastic Football Player of the Year
Coach Wood said, “Easton naturally moves into a leadership position every time he is a part of because he is driven to be excellent. He is highly regarded by the administration and his peers. He also volunteers his time and runs a small lawn business with his brother. He has strong moral character and demonstrates integrity, having a fun-loving personality and being a fierce competitor. He has always had that correct amount of “swag” that the best leaders often possess. I coach with his dad, who is also his head baseball coach, so it has been extremely special to watch their bond and experiences throughout his career and successes. Love ya E. Proud of you!”

JONATHAN BARROW - Passionate Fan Award
Coach Wood said, “Jonathan Barrow is wheelchair-bound due to cerebral palsy. His parents, Suzanne and Johnny, take care of him every day, and they are the sweetest people you will ever meet. Jonathan has always done a "coach's show" on Snyder Tiger Gameday mornings. When I arrived in Snyder a few years back, the radio station had just lost its funding for this, so we thought of a way to keep it going, and we have since done it on Facebook Live every Friday of the season at 9 am - "Gameday FB Live with Jonathan Barrow". He adores it, and looks forward to it all week. So do I. Suzanne hosts it for us, and Jonathan always loves the end when I get their trivia question wrong. He is sure to give us a good laugh. He has even scored a touchdown for the Tigers a couple of times. We all call Johnathan “Snyder's Number 1 Fan.” He is a member of the Lion's Club and an active member at his church every Wednesday and Sunday. You won’t find a person with a bigger faith. He loves big and puts happiness into perspective whenever you think you deserve a pity party. His motto in life is: I have cerebral palsy, what is your problem? He is one of my best friends; love ya, buddy!”

Tymrie Collier, Madison Garza, Skyla Smith, and Yasmin Thamez had the honor of performing in the London New Year’s Day Parade. This opportunity was provided to cheerleaders nationwide who were awarded "All-American" at high school summer cheer camp through the Varsity Spirit organization. Although this was not a school-sponsored or affiliated trip, they did a fantastic job representing Snyder High School and our community "across the pond!"

Here's a report from Mrs. Soliz's kindergarten class! "Our favorite high school student helper, Miss Paola, taught us a lesson today! We enjoyed hearing about the Snow Globe Family by Jane O'Connor and sharing what we would do if we lived in a snow globe. Thank you, Miss Paola, for such a well thought out lesson and activity! We love and appreciate that you are helping us learn!" 💜
Paola is a student in Mrs. Hunter's "Teaching & Training" pathway, which allows students to learn more about the teaching profession.

Snyder Intermediate School wants to celebrate Gabby Alvarado, one of their spectacular substitute teachers. They are so grateful to have substitutes like her who are willing to step into the classroom when a teacher or staff member has to be out.

When we asked Gabby what she liked about being a substitute teacher, she stated, “I love being a substitute because it’s flexible and rewarding. Each day brings a new adventure when working with students who are so eager to learn. I also love the opportunity to build relationships with staff when providing coverage.”

Substitutes have a big impact on each and every campus and play a vital role in making things run smoothly. Snyder Independent School District is thankful for each and every person who dedicates their time to join our team as a substitute teacher!
