Our Tigers represented Snyder well at the State Lineman Challenge!
This group competed with grit, effort, and pride against some of the top teams in Texas. One year ago, our best finish in a qualifier was second to last. This year, Snyder qualified two groups for the state competition.
That is growth. That is commitment. That is what it means to keep working.

Preliminary STAAR and TELPAS results are now available for families to view in Skyward Family Access.
This spring, students in grades 3-8 and high school students taking Algebra I, English I, English II, Biology, and U.S. History completed STAAR testing. Students who participated in TELPAS may also view those results now.
Snyder ISD uses these results, along with classroom data and instructional planning, to better understand student progress and prepare for the upcoming school year. These scores are one piece of the bigger picture, helping teachers identify strengths, areas for growth, and ways to support students moving forward.

Recently, our teachers spent two days learning and growing through Gomez and Gomez training, an important part of strengthening our Dual Language program.
The training is a great introduction for new teachers and an excellent refresher for veteran educators. We appreciate our staff’s commitment to continuous learning as they work to provide engaging, high-quality bilingual instruction for our students.
Scurry County Back to School Bash Scheduled for August 1
Families are invited to attend the 2026-2027 Scurry County Back to School Bash on Saturday, August 1, at the WTC Coliseum, located at 900 E. Coliseum Drive in Snyder.
The annual event helps local families prepare for the upcoming school year by connecting them with valuable resources and services at no cost.
The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Families who pre-register may enter beginning at 8:30 a.m., while walk-in registration will begin at 10:00 a.m.

Snyder ISD is pleased to announce that Cameron Lowman will join Snyder High School as the Girls Athletic Coordinator and Head Girls Basketball Coach for the 2026-2027 school year.
Coach Lowman brings more than a decade of coaching and teaching experience to Snyder ISD. Most recently, he served as Head Boys Basketball Coach at Colorado High School, where he led the varsity basketball program while teaching advanced mathematics courses, including Algebra II, Honors Algebra II, and Precalculus.
Prior to his time in Colorado City, Coach Lowman spent seven years as Head Boys Basketball Coach at Coleman High School. During his tenure, Coleman earned five consecutive playoff appearances, including a regional quarterfinal appearance in 2022. In addition to basketball, he coached football, track, and cross country while helping develop successful athletic programs across multiple sports.
Coach Lowman is no stranger to Tiger Nation. From 2015 to 2018, he served at Snyder High School as an assistant boys basketball coach, head junior varsity boys basketball coach, and assistant coach in cross country and track while teaching Algebra I and Geometry. His familiarity with the district, students, and community provides a strong foundation as he returns to Snyder.
A graduate of Hardin-Simmons University with a bachelor's degree in mathematics, Coach Lowman recently completed a Master of Education in Athletic Administration from Midwestern State University. He has been recognized as a District Coach of the Year and brings a proven record of building competitive programs while developing student-athletes both on and off the court.
Outside of school, Coach Lowman enjoys spending time with his wife, Macy, and their two daughters, Kennidee and Collins. He also enjoys spending time on the golf course and looks forward to becoming part of the Snyder community once again.

Since beginning his education career in 2021, Coach Ritter has taught multiple science courses, including Pre-AP Biology, and holds certifications in both science and mathematics. His coaching experience includes football, basketball, and track and field.
Coach Ritter earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from Wayland Baptist University and completed his alternative certification through Eastern New Mexico University. Coach Ritter is married to Allison, a teacher at Snyder Intermediate School, and is the proud father of two boys, Rhett and Stetson.
Snyder ISD looks forward to seeing Coach Ritter continue building strong relationships with student-athletes while expanding his role in the district’s track and field program.

Growing up nearby in Hermleigh, Mrs. Hildebrand earned her Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2017. She joins the district with ten years of teaching experience and a passion for making learning fun and engaging for students.
Mrs. Hildebrand is eager to collaborate with the Snyder Intermediate team to exchange fresh ideas and strategies. She chose a career in education out of a deep belief that every child is capable of achieving more than they realize. Her goal is to cultivate a secure classroom environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring the world, and building lasting academic confidence.
Outside of school, Mrs. Hildebrand is an avid reader and enjoys spending time outdoors connecting with nature.

A 2015 graduate of Snyder High School, Coach Baltzell was a dedicated member of the Tiger golf team, where she was inspired by her own coaches, Coach Hunter, Coach DelBosque, and Coach Birks.
Coach Baltzell holds an Associate degree from Western Texas College, a Cosmetology license from Howard College, and a Bachelor’s degree from Angelo State University. She began her educational and coaching career at Greenwood ISD, where she spent four years teaching science, robotics, PE, and pre-athletics, while also coaching golf.
Returning to Snyder ISD, Coach Baltzell is eager to learn new skills and step into new athletic roles. Her goal as an educator and coach is to push students and athletes past their comfort zones so they can see what they truly can accomplish through hard work and determination. Her objective is to leave the same positive, lasting impact on her students that her own Snyder coaches left on her.

Each year, families and friends gather to celebrate an important milestone for every graduate who walks across the stage. We ask all guests to help us maintain a respectful atmosphere throughout the ceremony.

• Other items that may block the view of or disrupt the experience for other attendees
Graduation is expected to last approximately one hour. Guests are asked to remain seated throughout the ceremony, so every graduate and family has the opportunity to fully enjoy and participate in this special moment without disruption.
At the conclusion of graduation, families will be dismissed and may exit the building to join their graduate on the floor for photos.

Update 12:10 PM: ALL CLEAR | Snyder Junior High School
The gas at Snyder Junior High has been turned off, and we have been given the all clear from Atmos Energy and the City of Snyder for students to reenter the building after lunch. District leadership and the fire department have also walked the building to ensure classrooms and hallways are ready to receive students. Student safety remains our top priority.
Snyder Junior High students are currently picking up their lunches at Snyder Primary School.
We will begin transporting students back to Snyder Junior High at 1:15 PM, and classes will resume after lunch. Students will begin 6th period upon their return, and we will dismiss students at the usual time today using normal pickup and bus procedures.
At this time, we do not anticipate needing to make up any instructional minutes due to today’s interruption, and school operations will continue as normal tomorrow.

Update 11:14 AM: A hamburger lunch will be served to Snyder Junior High students around 12:30 PM at Snyder Primary School. If your child has a dietary restriction, that information has been provided to the Snyder Primary School cafeteria staff. Water has also been delivered to all students. We will provide an update regarding dismissal procedures as soon as possible.

UPDATE: 10:32 AM
Families of students who take medication at school: As part of our evacuation protocol, all student medications were safely transported to Snyder Primary School. Our nursing staff is continuing to administer medications according to established procedures and schedules.
At this time, we are finding that the problem is stemming from sensors on the roof that were damaged during yesterday’s hail storm, which is impacting portions of the building systems.
All students remain safe and supervised. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
UPDATE: 9:52 am 2nd-grade families, while your students have been at Field Day, we have had to temporarily relocate Snyder Junior High students to the Primary campus due to a gas leak at Snyder Junior High School. As a result, we are utilizing a large number of 2nd grade classrooms while we continue coordinating logistics and monitoring the situation.
At the conclusion of Field Day, 2nd-grade students will move to the indoor facility at Snyder High School. Students will have activities there, and sack lunches will be brought over for them.
Junior High Families: Snyder Junior High students will remain at Snyder Primary School at this time. We have a plan for lunch to be provided to all Junior High students.
There is no need to pick up your child at this time. All students are safe and supervised. We will continue to provide updates regarding the remainder of the day as soon as possible.

9:12 am: Families, we are currently evacuating Snyder Junior High due to a gas leak at the campus. As a precaution, students are being relocated to Snyder Primary School, as several grade levels are currently away on field trips. Buses are currently en route to transport students safely to the relocation site. All students are safe.
We are coordinating logistics and will provide an update as soon as possible.
