Snyder ISD invites students and community members to apply for one of two advisory committees established to strengthen communication and collaboration during this period of leadership transition. Working directly with the Interim Superintendent, the committees provide insight into student, staff, and community experiences while offering ideas to support continued growth and success across the district.
Both the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee and the Superintendent’s Community Advisory Committee serve in an advisory role to the Interim Superintendent. These committees do not make decisions or set policy. Instead, they provide perspective and feedback to help inform district leadership.
The advisory committees are launching as Dr. Jessica Gore steps into her role as Interim Superintendent of Snyder ISD. She shared that this work is an intentional opportunity to listen, learn, and better understand the experiences and priorities of those the district serves. “Our work does not stop during a transition,” said Dr. Gore. “Our students deserve continued focus. These advisory committees give us a meaningful way to listen to student and community voices as we continue strengthening academics and supporting our schools.”
The Superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee is open to currently enrolled students in grades 3–12. The committee is designed to elevate student voice and strengthen communication between students and district leadership. Students will share perspectives on learning, school climate, campus life, and the overall student experience, while also developing leadership skills and civic responsibility.
The Superintendent’s Community Advisory Committee is open to parents, guardians, staff members, business leaders, and community partners. This committee will provide community insight and feedback on a wide range of topics, including academic opportunities, instructional experiences, school climate, student and staff retention, preparation for future pathways, workforce readiness connected to academics, and broader community needs
While facilities may be discussed as part of broader conversations about student experience or district needs, facilities planning is not the objective of either committee.
Both committees will begin meeting in February, with future meeting dates (at least quarterly) shaped by group input and needs. Student meetings will be held at 7:15 am, with transportation provided back to students’ campuses following each meeting. Community meetings will be held at 12 pm at the Snyder ISD Administration Office.
