SNYDER, Texas — During its regularly scheduled Board of Trustees meeting, the Snyder Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously named Dr. Jessica Gore as the Lone Finalist for Superintendent of Snyder ISD.

Dr. Gore joined Snyder ISD in April 2024 as Chief Academic Officer and has since served as Assistant Superintendent and Interim Superintendent. During her time with the district, she has worked closely with campus leaders and staff to strengthen academic systems, improve accountability practices, strengthen teacher and leadership pipelines, while prioritizing clear communication and collaboration with the Board, staff, families, and community.

“Dr. Gore has already demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to our students and our community. From the very beginning, she has worked to build strong relationships across Snyder,” said Board President Brad Hinton. “The culture of our district is moving forward with purpose, and our kids are winning. This is an important moment for Snyder ISD. We believe this is the leadership our students deserve, someone who is not only capable and strategic, but present, engaged, and invested in our entire community.”

Dr. Gore’s career in education includes service as an elementary classroom teacher, a 6A high school assistant principal, and a large middle school principal. She has also held district-level leadership roles focused on curriculum, accountability, and school improvement, including Executive Director of School Improvement and Accountability, where she supported improvement efforts across 42 campuses.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Abilene Christian University, a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University, and a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Multicultural and Multilingual Studies from Texas Tech University. Dr. Gore also holds multiple Texas educator certifications, including Superintendent (EC–12), Principal (EC–12), Generalist (EC–4), and English as a Second Language.

As Interim Superintendent, Dr. Gore implemented a 90-day entry plan centered on Board alignment, uninterrupted district operations, instructional continuity, and community engagement. This work included supporting campus leadership, improving communication with the Trustees, maintaining fiscal oversight, and expanding opportunities for stakeholder voice through multiple avenues, including the Superintendent Student and Community Advisory Committees.

Dr. Gore and her husband call Snyder home. Her daughter is a Pre-K student in Snyder ISD, and her son is eagerly counting down the days until he can officially become a Snyder Tiger.

“I am grateful for the trust placed in me by the Board and for the opportunity to continue serving Snyder ISD,” said Dr. Gore. “This district has strong people, committed educators, and a community that believes in its students. I’m excited to continue building on the work already underway.”

State law requires a 21-day waiting period following the announcement of a lone finalist before the Board may take final action on the superintendent appointment.
