Snyder ISD has been exploring a possible campus reconfiguration to create a Pre-K/K Early Learning Hub (at the current Snyder Intermediate Campus) and a 1–5 Elementary Cohort (at the current Snyder Primary Campus). We have met with many of our staff who would experience the greatest impact from these potential changes and appreciate the thoughtful feedback.  While the model remains promising for improving student experience, alignment, and early-learning outcomes, the administrative team, with support of the Board of Trustees, recommends postponing implementation at this time.

The initial timeline was driven by a TEA approval window; however, that window is no longer a determining factor, allowing the district more flexibility to approach this decision strategically rather than urgently. Given our current academic priorities, including Bluebonnet curriculum implementation, Year 1 of the Strategic Plan, instructional capacity development, and key leadership transitions such as a new Primary principal and new Director of Operations, our focus must remain on foundational work with the greatest immediate impact on student learning.

Additionally, in light of the failed bond, the district must prioritize high-need facility projects and utilize the upcoming facilities assessment committee to guide responsible financial planning. Moving forward with an optional configuration change without sufficient capacity, funding clarity, and long-range planning would not be responsible or timely.

Over the spring, we will continue to research the concept, solicit broader teacher and community input, and develop a more comprehensive proposal that includes instructional, operational, financial, and transition considerations. A longer planning runway will allow us to listen, learn, and ensure a thoughtful rollout if the district chooses to proceed.

Our goal is to revisit reconfiguration in Fall 2026 with a more robust and community-informed plan, positioning potential implementation for the 2027–2028 school year, pending readiness and board direction.

We look forward to continued dialogue and updates as planning progresses.
