FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Snyder ISD Statement on Investigation of Former Staff Members in Life Skills Classroom
October 14, 2025 – Snyder, Texas
In September 2024, Snyder ISD received a parent concern regarding an incident involving their child in a Life Skills classroom at Snyder Primary School.
Upon receiving the report, the district immediately placed three employees on administrative leave and began an internal investigation. This process included interviews and a review of classroom video footage. Parents and guardians of students in the affected classroom were notified through ParentSquare (the district’s school-to-home communication platform) and encouraged to contact the district if they had additional information. Local law enforcement conducted an independent investigation with the district’s full cooperation.
As a result of the district’s investigation and in accordance with Snyder ISD policies, the individuals involved, and those who witnessed but failed to report the misconduct, are no longer employed by Snyder ISD.
In January 2025, Snyder ISD Administration was notified by the police department that another student may have been involved in a separate incident with the same former staff members earlier in the school year. Upon receiving this information, the district immediately contacted the parent of the second student, began a follow-up investigation, and cooperated fully with local law enforcement.
Student safety is of the utmost importance. Snyder ISD is committed to taking swift and appropriate action to ensure a safe learning environment for all students. Parents with questions or concerns related to student safety or well-being should reach out directly to their campus principal or the Snyder ISD District Office. Reports may also be submitted anonymously at any time through the STOPit platform, available on all student devices or via www.snyderisd.net/stopit.
