The Texas Education Agency has released accountability ratings for the 2024–2025 school year. While these results are one measure of performance, they come at a time when Snyder ISD is in the midst of strategic, intentional change. Our focus is on driving long-term improvement, not just an overnight fix.

This year marks the launch of our three-year strategic plan.  It is a clear roadmap for lasting success, supported by consistent progress monitoring, regular updates to the Board of Trustees, and a strong sense of ownership at both the campus and leadership levels. Each step of the plan is tied to specific actions, ensuring accountability and guiding our work toward measurable improvement. Research and experience confirm that real transformation takes three to five years; anything faster is often only cosmetic.

2024–2025 Accountability Ratings
Snyder ISD received an overall rating of 66 (D), with the following campus results:

  • Snyder Primary – 80 (B)

  • Snyder Intermediate – 65 (D)

  • Snyder Junior High – 55 (F)

  • Snyder High School – 74 (C)* – under a district-led appeal regarding College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR)

*We believe the submitted CCMR data for Snyder High School does not accurately reflect the work of our students and teachers in meeting postsecondary goals. The state has allowed us to appeal, and we are carefully reviewing every eligible data point to ensure we capture every CCMR indicator earned by our students.

Progress Underway
While the ratings reflect areas where improvement is still needed, they do not capture the many successes, positive changes, and strategic work happening across Snyder ISD every day.

We have:

  • Added three instructional coaches to strengthen classroom instruction and provide targeted support to teachers.

  • Enhanced professional development to ensure continuous growth in teaching and learning, with positive feedback already coming in about the level of support provided.

  • Increased educator salaries and prioritized certifications to retain and attract strong talent, resulting in even more experienced and qualified applicants this hiring season.

  • An experienced cabinet-level leadership team, anchored by dedicated returning members and strengthened by talented new leaders, brings fresh perspectives and valuable expertise. Together, they enhance our ability to support principals, maintain district continuity, and provide the resources needed to accelerate academic growth.

  • Continued work to grow our Teacher Incentive Allotment so that teachers who deliver measurable student growth are recognized and rewarded.

  • Welcomed two site visits from the Texas Education Agency, not as punitive measures, but at the request of TEA representatives who wanted to see firsthand the innovative, high-quality work happening across our district. Key takeaway: “You’re on the right track.”

  • Expanded high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) by including Snyder Junior High last year and at Snyder High School this year (Algebra I). After three years of implementing HQIM at Snyder Primary School, we saw the greatest improvement in our 3rd graders, who benefited from having these HQIM resources in their foundational years.

  • Expanded Pre-K for all students, a commitment the district has made for this school year despite a lack of state funding, ensuring more children have access to a strong educational foundation.

Looking Ahead

While the Strategic Plan provides a clear roadmap for action, the State of the District highlights the changes already in place that are moving the needle for students. Together, they show both where we are headed and the tangible progress already underway.

Our message is simple: we are doing the right work, refining our systems, and developing strong leaders. The results may lag behind the effort, but with consistency, the shift will become unstoppable. We appreciate your support and encourage you to reach out to your campus principal or district leadership with any questions.
