Student Health Action Committee (SHAC)

A SHAC is a group of individuals representing segments of the community, mandated by the Texas Education Code and appointed by the school district to serve at the district level, to provide advice to the district on coordinated school health programming and its impact on student health and learning. The SHAC assists the district in ensuring that local community values are reflected in the district's health education instruction. The SHAC Committee will conduct their work in accordance with Title 2, Chapter 28, Section 28.004 of the Texas Education Code. A Meeting of the School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021, beginning at 1:00 PM via Zoom.  The meeting will be recorded.

The subjects to be discussed or considered are listed below. 

  1. Welcome

  2. Discuss Public Comments from Sexual Health Awareness Curriculum Meetings held on November 16, 2021, and December 1, 2021.

  3. Vote on recommendation of Sexual Health Awareness Curriculum to the SISD School Board to be presented at the December 9, 2021, regular board meeting.

  4. Adjourn
