Release of Information | Media Release

Snyder Independent School District is proud to promote the success of its students, staff, and programs. These accomplishments may draw the attention of newspapers, television stations, and other media who visit our schools to photograph, film, and identify students and staff during various activities.

The District also uses students' names, images, and video clips in materials such as newsletters, website content, and postings on official social media platforms.

To restrict the District and those acting under its permission from the ability to feature your student, you must submit a letter, in writing, to the SISD Administration Office within one week of registration stating that we may not release your student’s information.  You must include your full name, contact information, relationship to the student, student’s full name, and grade, and indicate which category you do not want your child to be published in.  The request will be effective for the school year the parent/guardian submitted the letter.  The parent/guardian must submit a new letter each school year.

You may request for your student not to be published in one or both of the categories listed below:

  1. Media: newspaper, television station, district website, district social media, district newsletters, school yearbook, and other district-approved and generated publications.

  2. School Related Purposes: including college, career, and military institutions that wish to provide information about future opportunities.

We will not release information to other third-party sources. We will NOT release your phone number, email address, student’s social security number, or student identification number as directory information for school-related purposes. If your child is at an event that is open to the public (concert, sporting event, graduation, etc), we cannot guarantee that your child will not appear in a photo or video; we (Snyder ISD) will, however, not publish the child's name in association with the photo.

Please submit your letter in person or by mail to:
