Student Dress and Grooming Standards

25-26 Student Dress Code

Modesty is key, as the district’s dress and grooming standards are established to prevent disruption, teach grooming and hygiene expectations, and increase safety and learning. 

The principal or assistant principal will make the final determination on all dress code decisions. All decisions of the administration will be final.

Below are the allowable and non-allowable items, however the principal/assistant principal has further discretion (when necessary). 

 Shirts and T-Shirt standards: 

  • Tank tops, crop tops, spaghetti straps, bralettes, sheer/see-through, undershirts, and/or muscle shirts are not allowed 

  • Sleeveless shirts must have a width of four fingers, at minimum

  • Low cut neckline, strapless, bare midriff, and/or revealing clothing not allowed

Shorts, Skirts, and Pants standards:  

  • Shorts or skirts should be fingertip length and/or 5 inches above the top of the knee 

  • Hips and buttocks must be covered including when tights or leggings are worn 

  • Pants, jeans, shorts, and/or skirts must be worn above the hip bones (no sagging) 

  • No rips, tears, or holes in pants, shorts, skirts, or jeans above fingertip length unless tights are worn underneath

Outerwear standards: 

  • Hoodies and hats may not be worn inside of the buildings

  • Blankets, trench coats, dusters, robes, and pajamas are not allowed

Footwear standards:  

  • House shoes and slippers are not allowed

  • Shoes must be worn at all times

  • Tennis shoes may be required for PE and/or athletic classes

Headgear and hair standards: 

  • Extreme hairstyles are not permitted, as deemed by campus admin (added)

  • Facial hair must be neatly groomed and trimmed

  • Combs and picks are not to be worn in hair 

  • Sunglasses may not be worn in the building 

Tattoo standards: 

  • Visible tattoos must not be offensive or include sexual, drug, alcohol, or gang related material 

Prohibited garments include all that is or has:  

  • Promotes or advertises violence, obscenity, illegal drugs, alcohol, gangs, hate speech, profanity or pornography 

  • Images or language that creates a hostile or intimidating environment based on any protected class or consistently marginalized group
