This November, our junior high and high school students will participate in Youth Equipped to Succeed (YES) assemblies that encourage positive choices and personal responsibility. Families can continue these conversations at home by asking students what stood out, what they learned, and how they can apply those lessons. These conversations help students build confidence and recognize the trusted adults available to support them.
One of the most important habits we can build together is consistent school attendance. Every day gives students opportunities to learn, ask questions, build relationships, and receive support. Absences, late arrivals, and early departures can add up, causing students to miss instruction that can be difficult to replace. Being present for the full school day helps students stay connected and keep up with their learning.
Our Student Services team meets each Tuesday with campus staff to review attendance, follow up on absences, and identify students and families who may need assistance. These meetings help us address concerns early and coordinate support. Families are essential partners in this effort.
As the holiday season approaches, please plan trips and other activities around the school calendar whenever possible. Establishing a consistent bedtime, preparing clothes and backpacks the night before, and allowing enough time in the morning can help students arrive on time. When an absence is necessary, notify the campus promptly and submit supporting documentation. If your child has a medical appointment, coordinate with the campus about attending the remainder of the school day when appropriate.
If health concerns, emotional challenges, transportation difficulties, or other circumstances are affecting your child’s attendance, please reach out early. Our nurses, counselors, attendance staff, and campus administrators are here to work with families to identify solutions. Thank you for making attendance a priority and helping your child finish the fall semester strong. Every day counts, and every student matters!
