SNYDER, TX — Snyder ISD is excited to invite students, families, staff, alumni, and community members to join together for our district-wide Homecoming celebrations on Friday, September 18, 2026.

In response to community feedback, consultation with key stakeholders, and collaboration with local law enforcement, Snyder ISD is adjusting its traditional Homecoming schedule to better serve students and families while prioritizing safety and participation.

Historically, holding the Homecoming Parade on Thursday evening excluded many students, staff, and families involved in junior high football, sub-varsity athletics, and other Thursday night extracurriculars. Additionally, growing community turnout for the traditional Friday afternoon pep rally has far exceeded the physical capacity of the Tiger Gym, while midday outdoor temperatures present safety concerns regarding heat exposure.

To create an inclusive, safe, and family-friendly experience, Snyder ISD is moving both the Homecoming Parade and Community Pep Rally to Friday morning, September 18, at Grant Teaff Tiger Stadium. To accommodate these morning events, all Snyder ISD campuses will operate on a 3-Hour Late-Start Schedule on Friday, September 18, 2026.

For safety, three weapons detectors will be operational at stadium entrances, supported by District SROs and local law enforcement.
