Snyder ISD counselor Shelbie McKay has been selected to participate in the Southern Regional Education Board Crisis Recovery Network, a professional opportunity available to a limited number of school counselors across SREB member states.
Network members receive advanced training in crisis response, recovery, and school-based emergency support. The training will help McKay strengthen crisis preparedness and response within Snyder ISD while preparing her to serve as a regional resource for other schools experiencing a catastrophic crisis.
Participation also provides opportunities to collaborate with counselors and educational leaders across multiple states, share effective practices, and expand the district’s capacity to support students, staff, and families during emergencies.
The Snyder ISD Board of Trustees recognized McKay at its recent meeting for her selection and the opportunity to represent the district through the regional network.
