Another week closer to welcoming our students back!

Monday: Met with Cogdell Behavioral Health to discuss partnership opportunities, cabinet meeting, finalized the district strategic plan and “tight/loose” document for classroom clarity with the Snyder High School Leadership Team, and got to be “mom” at football camp with my son.

lions clubTuesday: Monthly safety sync, Snyder Lions Club presentation, a few parent phone calls, Tiger Takeoff planning, finalized the district strategic plan and classroom clarity document with the Snyder Junior High School Leadership Team, met with Marcia (who keeps my life together!), High School Tiger Takeoff planning, a small group meeting with board members, and another football camp visit.

Wednesday: 1:1 meetings with cabinet members as departments finalized supports for the year, celebrated our summer readers with the Scurry County Library, and traveled to Odessa with our Snyder High School Counseling Office team to explore a potential partnership with Odessa College for auto mechanics.

(We appreciate Western Texas College’s transparency about its future plans and are excited about local partnerships that will help prepare our students for the workforce.)

Thursday: More 1:1 meetings, recorded our safety podcast, met with the district’s financial advisor, finalized beginning-of-year events, spoke with Snyder Tiger Athletics coaches about accountability and CCMR, wrapped up the district strategic plan and Tiger Takeoff planning with the Snyder Intermediate School Leadership Team, and attended our board budget workshop.

•••Excited to share we’re proposing a budget with a much smaller deficit!

Friday & Saturday: Hours behind the scenes preparing and decorating for New Teacher Orientation and Convocation. Thank you to everyone who has poured your time and talents into making these events possible.

back to school bash

Friday night/Saturday morning also included a visit to our first volleyball practice of the season at Midnight Madness. The excitement and energy were contagious! Later, the Back to School Bash made me even more excited to welcome students back. Great job to the Snyder Community Resource Center for another wonderful event!

Hope our Tiger family is soaking up these last few days of summer!
