teachers working

Sunday started with a fun surprise as my yard was “flagged” by Snyder Junior High families as part of a SJHS PTO fundraiser. Such a creative and patriotic way to support students!

Monday began with a teacher listening session focused on technology use in our classrooms. Like many districts, Snyder Independent School District is exploring the right balance based on teacher feedback. We followed with our weekly Cabinet meeting, planning for the beginning of the school year and parent engagement opportunities.

summer with the superintendent participants

During Summer with the Superintendent, we finished The Hunger Games and are excited to begin The Wild Robot as our next book club text. Thank you to J316 Downtown Coffee House for hosting! The afternoon was spent finalizing our MTSS framework to strengthen academic and behavioral supports, followed by a Texas Education Agency school improvement monitoring meeting where we celebrated several positive metrics we’ll share soon. The evening included our Team of Eight training alongside a majority of our Board of Trustees.

Tuesday started with our weekly leadership call before traveling to Sweetwater to meet with the The Chamber, Sweetwater and Nolan County Chamber of Commerce and the Development Corporation of Snyder, Texas - DCOS to discuss future partnership opportunities. The afternoon included meetings with board members in preparation for our July 9 board meeting and finalizing next week’s leadership retreat LuKacy's Event Center.

Wednesday focused on preparing for leadership retreat with campus and district leaders. We also continued planning for our 2026-27 Workforce Pep Rally and Showcase Days (more info coming soon!). The day ended meeting with local automotive business leaders to strengthen Snyder ISD Automotive program and ensure students graduate workforce ready. Thank you to the DCOS for getting this set up.

4th of july parade

Saturday morning our community gathered for the Fourth of July parade, and it was great to see so many Snyder ISD students, staff, and floats proudly representing our district. This is my 3rd year and it just keeps getting better! Great job, Snyder Chamber of Commerce - Discover Snyder!

Happy 250th Birthday, America!
