At its June 9 meeting, the Snyder ISD Board of Trustees approved employee compensation increases for the 2026-2027 school year.

The approved plan includes the standard step increases for returning employees on the teacher salary scale and a 2.5% salary increase for returning employees not paid on the teacher salary scale. New employees will be placed on the district's approved salary schedule based on experience and applicable qualifications.

The Board's action builds upon several years of strategic investments in employee compensation. In 2025, the Board approved more than $1 million in adjustments to the district's teacher salary schedule, significantly increasing pay across experience levels and improving Snyder ISD's competitiveness in recruiting and retaining educators. Later that year, the district implemented additional state-funded salary increases through House Bill 2, providing eligible teachers with raises of up to $8,000. The 2026-2027 salary schedule continues to include these HB2 investments.

In addition to improving compensation, Snyder ISD has focused on strengthening workforce stability and instructional quality. Over the past year, the district has reduced employee turnover while increasing teacher certification rates, helping provide greater consistency and support for students and families.

Snyder ISD employees play a critical role in supporting student success. Whether working in the classroom, driving a bus, preparing meals, maintaining facilities, supporting technology, assisting students, or serving in leadership roles, each employee contributes to creating a positive educational experience for students and families.

Snyder ISD appreciates the Board of Trustees for prioritizing investments in the people who make a difference in students' lives, and thanks all employees for their continued dedication to serving the children and families of Snyder ISD.
