Sarah Stelluti’s high school tennis career came to a close today and she left with a piece of Snyder Tiger Tennis history in her hands.

The Snyder High School senior finished her season as a Bronze State Medalist at the UIL State Tennis Tournament, becoming one of the most accomplished players to ever wear the black and gold. But for those who watched her journey unfold over the years, the achievement was never simply about medals or match results. It was about the countless hours, determination, and passion she brought to the court every single day.

“This accomplishment was not luck or chance,” said Snyder ISD Head Tennis Coach Coach Hale. “It was built through years of hard work, dedication, sacrifice, and a love for this game that is truly unmatched.”

Sarah represented Snyder Lady Tiger Tennis since the seventh grade. Her run at the state tournament included a semifinal matchup against the defending three-time state champion, where her fight and resilience captured the attention of everyone watching.

“The heart and determination she displayed today in the semifinal match against the defending three-time state champion will leave a lasting mark on Snyder Tiger Tennis for years to come,” said Snyder ISD Athletic Director Anthony Gonzales. “Sarah never wavered, never backed down, and competed for every single point on the court.”

Gonzales said Sarah’s career embodied exactly what coaches hope student-athletes leave behind after graduation.

“As a high school student-athlete, the goal is to leave your program better than you found it and create a legacy that will be remembered long after you are gone,” Gonzales said. “Sarah has done exactly that. She has set the standard for what Snyder Lady Tiger Tennis should look like moving forward.”

For Coach Hale, the accomplishment carries an even deeper meaning after years spent coaching Sarah through practices, tournaments, road trips, and milestones.

“I’ve had the privilege of coaching Sarah for almost her entire Snyder tennis career, and I can honestly say she is one of the most driven athletes I’ve ever been around,” Hale said. “She gave everything she had to this sport and to this program every single day.”

While Sarah’s accomplishments on the court speak for themselves, both coaches emphasized the impact she made beyond tennis.

“We’re going to miss far more than just her tennis,” Hale said. “We’ll miss her leadership, her energy, her competitiveness, and all of the crazy antics that made every day interesting. She leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered at SHS for a very long time.”

Sarah’s state medal closes an unforgettable chapter for Snyder Lady Tiger Tennis, but her influence on the program will continue long after graduation.

“We are incredibly proud of everything she accomplished during her career as a Snyder Lady Tiger,” Gonzales said. “She reached the biggest stage in high school athletics in the great state of Texas, and she left everything she had on the court.”
