On Wednesday, January 14, Snyder High School DECA competed at the District 9 Conference in Sweetwater, hosted at TSTC. Twenty-eight students represented Snyder, and seventeen earned top-four finishes, advancing to the Texas DECA State Conference in February.

Their preparation, professionalism, and confidence were evident throughout the competition.

  • Jimena Gomez Gil and Katie Puente – 2nd Place, Travel and Tourism Team

  • Ximena Morado and Jacqueline Ornelas – 2nd Place, Business Law and Ethics Team

  • Amy Lopez and Raquel Martinez – 3rd Place, Buying and Merchandising Team

  • Cristal Corona and Jonathan Corona – 3rd Place, Hospitality Services Team

  • Payton Pinkerton, John Gregory, and Nethan Dagani – 2nd Place, Innovation Plan


District 9 includes schools from San Angelo Central, Sweetwater, Graham, Abilene Lift Center, Trent, Stephenville, Cristoval, Ballinger, Wichita Falls, and Snyder.

The Texas DECA State Conference will be held February 19 through 21 in Dallas at the Anatole Hotel.
