letterheadDear Snyder ISD Community,

On December 4, Senate Bill 8, commonly referred to as the “Bathroom Bill,” went into effect across the state of Texas. This law applies to all public schools and establishes requirements related to the designation and use of private spaces, including locker rooms.

Snyder ISD remains committed to the safety, dignity, and well-being of every student. Within our athletic programs, the goal of these requirements is to ensure students’ privacy while maintaining appropriate supervision, particularly when a team’s coach is of the opposite sex.

To comply with Senate Bill 8, locker rooms are designated as non-private during the following times:

  • Fifteen minutes before the start of a game

  • During the entire halftime period, following clearance with a same-sex coach

  • Fifteen minutes after the conclusion of a game

This approach allows students the privacy they deserve while still enabling coaches and staff to supervise teams and manage game-day responsibilities in appropriate settings.

Signage identifying these designated non-private times, as required by Senate Bill 8, will be posted outside locker rooms.

Snyder ISD will continue to take thoughtful steps to provide safe, secure, and respectful environments for all students. If you have questions or would like additional information, please contact Snyder ISD Athletic Administration.
