UIL Snapshot Day

Each year, public schools across Texas participate in Snapshot Day, the date when enrollment numbers are submitted to the University Interscholastic League (UIL). These numbers play a key role in determining athletic district alignments and classifications for the next two-year UIL cycle.

For the current 2024 to 2026 realignment, Snyder High School reported an enrollment of 693 students. This placed Snyder in its current UIL classification and district structure for academics and athletics.

Snapshot Day for the next alignment cycle was held today, October 31, 2025. Snyder High School reported an enrollment of 705 students. This number will be used by UIL as part of the upcoming 2026 to 2028 realignment process.

Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Anthony Gonzales shared that while alignment influences scheduling and competition, it does not guide the program’s identity.  “Our focus doesn’t change with alignment numbers,” Gonzales said. “We build our program on discipline, accountability, and doing things the right way. No matter where UIL places us, our goal is to prepare our kids to compete with purpose and represent Snyder with pride.”

UIL will now review enrollment numbers from schools across Texas and set the classification cutoffs. After that, districts will be formed based on enrollment and geography. These steps have not happened yet, and no changes are official at this time. Final alignments for the 2026 to 2028 cycle are expected on February 2, 2026.

Snapshot Day is a routine but meaningful step in shaping the competitive landscape for Texas students. It reflects enrollment trends, community growth, and shifts in school populations across the state. For Snyder, the increase from 693 to 705 shows a steady student population and prepares the way for the next chapter in UIL athletics and activities.

Snyder ISD will share updates with families and the community as UIL releases additional information.
