After 34 years of service to Snyder ISD, Mrs. Kathy Scott is retiring — closing a chapter that began when she was still a student herself.
Mrs. Scott’s career in education started as a part-time receptionist at the Administration Building during her senior year of high school. That role grew into something much more, launching a career that would touch nearly every corner of the district. After four years as a Business Office Secretary, she stepped into the classroom, where she taught 6th-grade science at West Elementary and Snyder Junior High for 12 years.
Her leadership journey continued with administrative roles across the district: four years as Assistant Principal at Snyder Junior High, one year at Stanfield Elementary in the same role, and four years as Principal of Snyder Intermediate. She then served as Special Programs Coordinator for two years before taking on the role of Director of Student Services, a position she has held for the past seven years.
Across each role, Mrs. Scott brought consistency, thoughtfulness, and a calm presence. Her ability to support students, families, and staff has left a lasting mark on the district.
While it’s hard to see someone with so much experience, insight, and heart step away, retirement is a moment to celebrate — and Mrs. Scott has certainly earned it. She has been a steady presence, a problem solver, and a repository of institutional knowledge for Snyder ISD.
Congratulations, Mrs. Scott! Your Snyder ISD family is grateful for your service to our community and wishes you all the best in the well-deserved chapter ahead.
