Long Range Facility Planning Committee
Planning Today for Snyder ISD’s Future
The Snyder ISD Long-Range Facility Planning Committee, or LRFPC, will bring together students, educators, parents, community leaders, and taxpayers to study the district’s current and future facility needs.
The committee will serve in an advisory capacity to the Snyder ISD Board of Trustees during the 2026–27 school year. Its work will help guide the development of a five-year Long-Range Facility Plan and will conclude with recommendations presented to the Board in June 2027.
Throughout the process, the committee will keep students at the center of its work while considering how to make the best use of the district’s financial resources.
Why the Committee Was Formed
The Snyder ISD Board of Trustees approved a framework to restructure the district’s facility planning committee to include greater student voice and broader representation from across the district and community.
This process aligns with Board Policy CS (LEGAL), which requires school districts to consider input from teachers, students, parents, taxpayers, and other stakeholders when developing a long-range facility plan.
The committee’s work will begin in September 2026 and continue throughout the school year. Community members will also have an opportunity to provide input through a districtwide survey in the spring.
Committee Charge
The Long-Range Facility Planning Committee will:
Study current demographic information and future student enrollment projections.
Tour district facilities and assess capital improvement, maintenance, transportation, technology, and safety and security needs in consultation with Snyder ISD staff.
Identify additional facility needs that may affect the district’s ability to carry out its mission and meet the goals outlined in the Snyder ISD Strategic Plan.
Review Snyder ISD’s current and projected financial outlook.
Consider options such as new construction, building additions, temporary facilities, renovations, and other approaches to addressing district needs.
Develop a final Long-Range Facility Planning Committee recommendation for the Snyder ISD Board of Trustees and administration.
The committee’s recommendations will be presented during a public meeting of the Snyder ISD Board of Trustees.
Committee Membership
The committee will include more than 50 members representing Snyder ISD schools and the broader community:
10 elementary representatives from grades PK–3
4 intermediate representatives from grades 4–5
9 junior high representatives
12 high school representatives
7 residential or commercial taxpayers appointed by the Board of Trustees
5 community members appointed by district administration:
Two business or corporate leaders
Two residential taxpayers without children currently enrolled in Snyder ISD
One residential taxpayer who is the parent of a child not yet of school age
5 at-large community representatives selected through an open application process
Campus and district administrators and the Board of Trustees will appoint committee members. Membership will be balanced to provide representation from different geographic areas, campuses, student programs, and community perspectives.
Meeting Schedule
Dinner will be available from 5:50 to 6:00 p.m. Meetings will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Apply to Serve
Five at-large community positions will be filled through an open application process.
Submitting an application does not guarantee placement on the committee. Members will be selected with the goal of providing balanced representation from throughout the district and across Snyder ISD student programs.
