Earlier this week, the UIL State Theatrical Design Results were announced. This year we had two students qualify for the state contest. Jaden West in Set Design, and Jaxon West in Marketing Design. Jaden placed 5th in the state. This is the 3rd year in a row for Jaden to rank in the top 6 in the state! Although Jaxon didn't place, advancing to state as a freshman in this event is a feat in and of itself. There were over 250 entries in each category in our division only 11 qualified for state in set design and only 20 qualified in marketing design.
To get a better idea of what is involved in the contest, here is a sampling of just some of their work. Mr. Reed, said, "It is probably one of the most challenging UIL events as each category has extensive requirements. In addition to their designs, they must also write a justification paper, create an inspiration collage, and create whatever specific detail the particular contest year requires of them."
