At Snyder High School, we go beyond the books, empowering students to graduate from high school prepared for their future!  Students select an area of interest from a variety of available programs that provide everything from classroom learning to real-world training and labs. In addition to building their knowledge base, students build their resumes through internships with local businesses/school-based enterprises and by earning industry-based certifications. Students may also earn college credits in strategic pathways to help them in their pursuit to become career or college ready after high school.

Admission to these programs is based on student career interests.

All graduating seniors complete a Captone project in their CTE or Fine Arts area. The students work with mentors and staff to develop an authentic capstone and present their projects at the end of the year capstone fair.

P-Tech

Snyder High School is an accredited P-Tech program, allowing students to earn a high school diploma and professional credentials. These include educational certificates, diplomas, and degrees. Students also engage in work-based education at every grade level, such as internships, apprenticeships, or other forms of job training programs.

With the support of the Texas Education Agency (TEA), we target thriving industries in the region, to address key workforce needs in high-demand fields. The P-TECH Model gives students an opportunity to:

  • earn an associate degree while earning their high school diploma

  • earn a two-year postsecondary certificate or industry certification

  • complete work-based training gain work experience through internships, apprenticeships, or other job training programs

  • prepare for military enlistment

Dual Credit

Snyder High School has partnered with Western Texas College and South Plains College to provide opportunities for students to earn college credits while in high school (Dual-credit), certificates, and Associate of Arts and Associate of Science Degrees!

Students may choose to enroll in a P-Tech program while also taking Dual-Crecit College courses.

Student Guidance & Planning

The Snyder High School Counselors are here to help. Visit their page for academic, emotional, and general support.

They can also help you with the next steps:

  • Current Students: Counselors assist current Snyder ISD students with High School elective and class selections during the school year.

  • New Students: For those new to Snyder ISD, the high school counselors are available to assist students in selecting the P-Tech and/or dual-credit courses during the enrollment appointment. After speaking with the high school counselor, completing the Snyder ISD enrollment is imperative that the student complete the following steps in a timely manner.

    1. Complete the Dual Credit Application through Western Texas College

    2. Complete the Opportunity Tuition Waiver form and Volunteer Hours (Check their page for the deadline). Be sure to review the approved volunteer sites.

    3. Review the WTC Dual Credit Handbook

    4. Make plans to attend Bridge Camp at Snyder High School in the summer. Bridge camp is a week-long camp that prepares students who plan on taking P-Tech and Dual Credit courses for the upcoming school year. Date TBA.

Counselors assist current Snyder ISD students with Junior High and High School P-Tech enrollment during the school year.

New Students: For those new to Snyder ISD, the high school counselors are available to assist students in selecting the P-Tech pathway during the enrollment appointment. After speaking with the high school counselor, and completing the Snyder ISD enrollment, the student may complete the P-Tech application.
